Ken Ramsay is one of the most experienced fundraising professionals in North America. Ken is committed to empowering those who empower others. He does this through consulting, speaking, training, teaching and conducting workshops for fundraisers, foundation staff, Boards and volunteers.

He was the founding Chair of the Canadian Association of Gift Planners and led the planned giving marketing company Legacy Leaders for 18 years securing commitments for over $2.5 billion for North American charities. Ken now teaches as part of the fundraising management, post-graduate course at Humber College in Toronto, Canada.

He has recently released a book Empowerment Dialogue – A New Approach to Fundraising and is the creator of the comic strip Gerald Bear, Fundraiser, distributed around the world.

Colleen Bradley, began her career with Royal Trust, specializing in will & estate and investment planning. At Royal she guided her clients through the will planning process, offered investment advice that helped them achieve their financial goals, and consistently exceeded the annual new business targets.

In 1990, Colleen joined The Heart and Stroke Foundation and began working on planned giving and developed a proactive program, doubling bequest revenue in five years, and later at The Easter Seal Society she created a comprehensive planned giving program that took annual planned giving bequest revenue to over 3 million dollars.

In 1998, Colleen opened Planned Giving Solutions Inc. to serve a wide range of charities interested in developing proactive planned giving programs. A Past Chair of the CAGP’s Toronto Round Table, Colleen has consulted with a wide range of Canadian charities, among them The Lung Association, Council of Canadians, Ontario March of Dimes, The Toronto Hospital Foundation, Canadian Liver Foundation, Canadian Hearing Society, Centennial College, Milton District Hospital Foundation, The Conservation Foundation of Greater Toronto, Save The Children Canada, Community Home Services for Seniors, Canadian Mental Health Association, L’Arche, Ontario Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and the Alzheimer Society of Ontario.

Doug Flanders has worked in the not-for-profit sector and revenue generation for over 30 years, specializing in legacy giving.

His positions have included Director of Major and Planned Gifts with the national offices of The United Church of Canada where he supervised a regional staff complement of nine located across the country. He was also Director of Leadership Giving with The Arthritis Society, the founding Director of Development for Plan Canada and the Planned Giving Manger with the Stratford Festival. At both Plan and the Festival, Doug built comprehensive legacy giving programs that involved extensive interaction with donors, the development of print and electronic resources, and the implementation of cultivation and stewardship programs nationally and internationally.

A Senior Consultant with PGgrowth, Doug Puffer is a recognized expert in planned giving in Canada with over 30 years of fundraising success in higher education and environmental conservation. Doug takes a scientific, systematic approach to the business of planned giving that speaks to his education and training in biology. He has learned from experience that an honest and artful connection with donors and their advisors will build relationships for charity that result in loyal support and joyful legacy giving. Doug recently retired as Director, Personal and Planned Giving at Carleton University, having held similar positions at Simon Fraser University, and Queen’s University in Kingston.

A past national board member for Canadian Association of Gift Planners and former mentor with the Ottawa and Greater Vancouver CAGP Chapters, Doug has shared his knowledge through workshops and seminars on legacy marketing, stewardship, international planned giving, gift planning for campaigns and charitable gifts of real estate. His well-researched presentations have been regulars at CAGP, AFP, STEP & CASE conferences. Doug has written numerous technical articles and donor stories for Gift Planning in Canada and other publications.

Neil Williams

Neil Williams has been a development professional since 1994, and is an experienced and innovative planned and major gifts officer. Neil is considered a leader and mentor in Calgary’s development community, having chaired the Calgary Chapter of the Canadian Association of Gift Planners and was a founding member of the committee that brought CAGP’s Leave A Legacy marketing program to Southern Alberta.  Neil has presented at AFP, CAGP and CASE conferences since 2007.

Neil’s passion is helping those new to planned giving cultivate the values-driven programs and broad skillset demanded by today’s ever more sophisticated donors, transforming traditional bequest-based programs by integrating cutting edge ideas, processes and programs.

Neil has managed planned giving programs at SAIT Polytechnic, Alberta Easter Seals and The Arthritis Society. In Calgary he has led major gifts and other programs for Renfrew Educational Services and The Canadian Cancer Society, as well as for the Kelowna General Hospital Foundation.
