Julia Magnuson-Ford joins the Senior Management Team as Vice President of Business Development. Most recently, Julia has been working as PGgrowth’s Project Manager.  

Julia is a project manager and coach, with a wide breadth of experience working for and with non-profit organizations. She began her non-profit career learning to drive the forklift at her local food bank, which led to a position at the national association of food banks. Her sector experience includes managing complex mail-phone legacy giving campaigns for Canadian and American charities, including hospitals; universities; and environmental, social service, and arts organizations. Most recently, she has enjoyed working with non-profits at the other end of the scale, helping small shops take fundraising baby steps into planned giving through private consulting work alongside her father. 

Julia’s education includes a Bachelors of Arts majoring in international development studies and politics, and a Masters of Arts in political science with a major research focus on understanding non-profit & government relations in Canada. An avid traveler, Julia worked as an international volunteer with Cuso International for 18 months, who sent her to Jamaica to help expand their program into the western end of the island. She fell in love, with the island and a man, and now spends much of her time there on her partner’s sailboat. When in Canada, the Sunshine Coast in British Columbia is her home base. 

In this role, Julia is building on the success we have had during our first decade working with charities across Canada, streamlining our systems to help us serve more clients better in our position as Canadian leaders in strategic philanthropy.
