L Matthews joins PG Growth as a highly motivated generalist to act as the organization’s operational ‘glue’. She has more than 20 years of experience in fundraising and non-profits as well as strategic communications, research, website design and management. In recent years, L has developed her data analysis skills and offers consultancy services for non-profits and small businesses looking to make smarter, data-driven decisions. She is an autodidact always looking to foster new skills, help others learn and grow, and to help ethical organizations enhance their efficiency and reach.

L moved to Canada in 2010 but grew up in England, where she helped establish a community arts cafe through a mix of government and private fundraising. For several years, L co-chaired the communications and fundraising committees for the Vancouver Association for the Survivors of Torture (VAST), where she also helped establish the academic journal Voices Against Torture and supported the non-profit in more than doubling its funding and programming.

Currently, L sits on the board of ESPRIT, the longest running non-profit daycare on the Sunshine Coast, where she manages communications and fundraising.

L lives on the Sunshine Coast with her wife and child and spends her free time exploring the forest, growing fruits and veggies, voraciously reading, and plotting her next novel.
