A Senior Consultant with PGgrowth, Doug Puffer is a recognized expert in planned giving in Canada with over 30 years of fundraising success in higher education and environmental conservation. Doug takes a scientific, systematic approach to the business of planned giving that speaks to his education and training in biology. He has learned from experience that an honest and artful connection with donors and their advisors will build relationships for charity that result in loyal support and joyful legacy giving. Doug recently retired as Director, Personal and Planned Giving at Carleton University, having held similar positions at Simon Fraser University, and Queen’s University in Kingston.

A past national board member for Canadian Association of Gift Planners and former mentor with the Ottawa and Greater Vancouver CAGP Chapters, Doug has shared his knowledge through workshops and seminars on legacy marketing, stewardship, international planned giving, gift planning for campaigns and charitable gifts of real estate. His well-researched presentations have been regulars at CAGP, AFP, STEP & CASE conferences. Doug has written numerous technical articles and donor stories for Gift Planning in Canada and other publications.
