Karen Viersen is an experienced fundraiser who is passionate about communicating with impact – turning programs and projects into compelling stories that inspire support.

An expert in grant-writing and building sustainable grant programs, Karen has worked with organizations of all sizes and scope – national, regional and community-based charities.  She brings grants experience across a wide range of sectors including arts & culture, human services, education, health, religion, disaster relief and humanitarian work. She has held senior positions with The Canadian Red Cross, CNIB and the Canadian Cancer Society and helped several regional and community-based organizations as a consultant.  Karen has an insight and understanding of many types of funders including corporate, private and family foundations and government.

With more than 20 years’ experience in the not for profit sector, Karen also has a breadth of knowledge in strategic planning, assessment and developing systems to build fundraising success.
