Michael Wolfe, CFRE

Michael Wolfe, CFRE, was the head of school at Stanstead College, a 153-year-old independent boarding school located in Quebec’s Eastern Townships, from 2005 until his retirement in June of 2023. 

His involvement with Stanstead College began in 1990 when he directed the school’s successful 21st Century Capital Campaign. In 1993, he returned to the College as director of development. 

In 1995, he began a five-year term as vice president at the Canadian Museum of Civilization Corporation, where he was responsible for the national campaign that raised over $15 million for the new Canadian War Museum. 

In 2000, he was appointed executive director of ORBIS, an international charity dedicated to preventing blindness in developing countries using the world’s only flying eye hospital. 

In August 2003, Mike returned to Stanstead College as director of advancement and was appointed head of school in 2005. 

Mike’s other fundraising experience includes campaigns at Branksome Hall in Toronto, the YM-YWCA of Winnipeg, and Saint Mary’s University and Mount Saint Vincent University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. In 2024, he served as the director of advancement at Shawnigan Lake School in British Columbia. 

He has served on and chaired several peer review committees for both Canadian Accredited Independent Schools (CAIS) and the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC). 

Mike holds Honours Bachelor of Arts and Master of Political Science degrees from the University of Western Ontario, a Master of Management degree from McGill University, and is a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE). 

He currently serves on the board of directors of Hammersmith Prep School, a kindergarten to grade 6 independent school in Falmouth, Jamaica.
