Suzanne Bone

Suzanne Bone is a seasoned non-profit executive with particular expertise in fundraising and governance.

Suzanne retired as the CEO of The Foundation of Guelph General Hospital in 2022 after a 31-year career. Working with staff and volunteers, she led fundraising programs including major gifts, direct response, special events, planned giving and four capital campaigns to raise close to $90 million to help Guelph General Hospital save lives and improve health. Suzanne was a key member of the Hospitals Senior Leadership team with a focus on community and communications.

Suzanne now helps non-profit organizations enhance their fundraising capacity enabling them to do more good work, through SB Philanthropic Consulting and as Senior Counsel with PGgrowth. She recently completed a five-month contract with the Children’s Foundation of Guelph and Wellington as interim Executive Director.

She is a certified fundraising executive and the 19th Canadian to hold the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy Fellows designation. She is a Guelph YMCA-YWCA Woman of Distinction in the Public Service category, a Paul Harris fellow, and received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Guelph Chamber of Commerce.

Suzanne is an active volunteer in her community and in her profession. She is Vice Chair of the Children’s Foundation of Guelph and Wellington Board of Directors. She has taught with both the Association of Healthcare Philanthropy and the Association of Fundraising Professionals.
